Begins Tuesday, March 13, runs Monday to Thursday until April 26 (inclusive).
There will be NO appointments taken over the phone.
Walk-in only, first come, first served.

Screening – featuring NC Community Gardens – Feb 22

NCCA is thrilled to have our Community Gardens featured in a nation-wide documentary series “Ageless Gardens” – episode 4 “Gardens Grow Community“. The series will air on Vision TV, but here’s your chance to view the episode, in addition to ep. 1 “Healing Plants” featuring Regina sculptor Vic Cicansky. Filmmaker Ian Toews will be in attendance. We will chat about what’s in store for the 2018 edition of the North Central Community Gardens as we enter year 11.

Volunteers Needed for NCCA 2018 Income Tax Clinic

Do you want to help people in your community?

Volunteer with the North Central Community Association and participate in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), and complete income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals.

Your contribution as a volunteer

Last year, more than 15,000 (CVITP) volunteers helped thousands of people with modest incomes and simple tax situations such as social assistance recipients, newcomers to Canada, seniors, students in communities across Canada.

Volunteer Positions 

North Central Community Association is seeking volunteers for the following positions:

CVITP Volunteers (Handle the taxpayer’s information securely and transmit the taxpayer’s return to the Canada Revenue Agency)

Front Desk Greeter (Greeting community members, schedule time slots)

Qualifications and Requirements

You do not need previous experience completing income tax returns, however you must be proficient with computer applications including Windows and Internet, and be approved to use online filing software by the Canada Revenue Agency. All volunteer applications are screened and approved by North Central Community Association. Please apply no later than January 31, 2018.

Time Commitment

The 2018 Income Tax Clinic will require volunteers from mid-March until the end of April from Monday to Thursday.  Specific days and times will be determined with the volunteers.

Welcome to our new Executive Director – Murray Giesbrecht

November, 2017

Murray has worked in the non-profit sector for the past 12 years. He began his career at the North Central Community Association as program coordinator for the Youth Employment Program from 2005 to 2008. Over the past decade, he worked at the Regina Food Bank as Director of the Adult Centre for Employment Readiness & Training, and as an instructor at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in the Community Services Division. He has worked with many great community partners and colleagues over the years to develop unique and innovative community based programming, and is very excited to return to the NCCA to contribute to the great work being done in the North Central community.
