North Central Community Association
- How Does it all Work??
- attended community events, local churches & gathering places, stated the issues that affect them and their community.
Community Association - in conjunction with the community, took those concerns and:
- developed a community Vision and Action Plan
- participated in a community-wide Crime Prevention Audit
- engaged the community through committees, events & interviews for updates
North Central Board
- are elected by the residents of the community at an annual general meeting
Sub-Committees of the Association
- Executive Committee - oversees the business of the board
- Audit Committee - reviews the financial workings of the organization
- Rental Registry - a working group of residents & stakeholders addressing housing regulation issues.
- Regina Inner City Community Partnership - an intergovernmental working group dealing with legislative barriers to help the community achieve its vision
- Housing Sub-Committee - a working group of residents & stakeholders in housing specifically dealing with barriers in housing development
- Crime & Safety - a working group of residents & enforcement agencies dealing with specific issues in the community, such as:
- Housing inspection Task Force
- Safer Communities & Neighbourhoods
- Education - a Working group of residents & stakeholders in housing and how it relates to awareness of housing-related programming, such as:
- RRAP, Tenant Rights, Centenary Affordable Housing Program, the Neighbourhood Home Ownership Program
- Employment Development Strategy (EDS)
- Working with skills development agencies and government develop a strategy to employ residents from the inner city

- Inner City Youth Employment Program - an initiative through the work of the EDS that hires up to 40 youth to work on the CPTED recommendations and takes on the physical work of changing the environment as it relates to crime. Cleaning graffiti, cutting weeds, mowing laws in common areas and cleaning up of vacant and abandoned properties. The result is on the job training with the goal of being fully employed at the end of the program
- Employment Centre - through recommendations of the EDS committee, begin to work with government, skills development groups and local business to develop a comprehensive employment centre for North Central.
- Albert Library - a self-sustainable committee of NCCA that oversees and manages the community library. One of the first locally-run libraries in the province of Saskatchewan
- Community Clean Up - works with residents and community agencies to clean up neighbourhood bi-annually
- CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) A community strategy to reduce the incidence of crime
- Hire Your Neighbour Program - an offshoot of the CPTED work in getting neighbours to help neighbours with home repairs, maintenance etc.
- Together Now Inter-Agency Forum - over 30 agencies working in North Central to share ideas and resources; meets 4 times a year throughout the community
- Graffiti Guardians - New
- Social Enterprise - an initiative to bring together NC businesses and begin to develop economic and development policy and programs
- Care and Share - a committee supported by the association that deals with seniors' health and welfare and offers weekly luncheons
